ALLDATA was founded in 1986 to meet market demand for OE repair
information. A group of forward-thinking individuals in Elk
Grove, California, envisioned how automotive technology would
soon transform the vehicle repair industry. These experienced
automotive professionals, knew that shops would need easy,
up-to-date access to reliable information. As computer technology
took hold, ALLDATA began compiling the largest single source of
OE information available.
From the beginning ALLDATA has put the customer’s needs first.
Many of the initial employees are still with ALLDATA and continue
to put their heart and quiet passion into its products. How
ALLDATA products are delivered has evolved, but ALLDATA continues
to drive the industry with expertise and determination. Today,
ALLDATA is the industry standard, used daily by more than 300,000
technicians worldwide.
In the US, ALLDATA has expanded its product line to include
factory-correct diagnostic, repair and collision information,
business tools and support services for the global automotive
industry. In 2011, ALLDATA established operations in Europe to
offer its best in class, OE repair information to European shops.
This is the first time ALLDATA’s products are available in
multiple languages: English, German, Spanish, French and Italian,
offering repair shops a depth of information not available
before.
In 1996, ALLDATA was purchased by AutoZone to provide the best
combination of service & repair information and parts.
AutoZone is the leading retailer of automotive parts and
accessories in the US, with more than 5,300 stores in the US,
Puerto Rico, and Mexico.

Online Software Offering OE Repair Data Directly from the
Automobile Manufacturer
Cologne, Germany – March 1, 2013 – For years,
inter-trade organizations have requested that multibrand repair
shops gain full access to repair and service information from
vehicle manufacturers. The EU has even regulated this claim by
law through Euro5/6. ALLDATA Europe GmbH, a subsidiary of U.S.
based ALLDATA LLC, is offering this information to European
multi-brand auto repair and service shops through its flagship
product, ALLDATA Repair.
“This has never been seen before in Europe: comprehensive,
unaltered and unedited data, identical with the OEs.” explains
ALLDATA Europe Managing Director, Uli Zehnpfenning. “The depth of
our data through this product is completely new.” Since
mid-September, ALLDATA Europe has beta tested ALLDATA Repair with
a number of multi-brand repair and service shops. The tests
concluded that shops using ALLDATA Repair were more efficient
during the repair process due to the fact that all the
manufacturers’ OE data is standardized, accessible online 24/7
and is available through ALLDATA’s intuitive common user
interface. The information, diagrams, recalls, and Technical
Service Bulletins (TSBs) that are accessed through the product
come straight from the manufacturer and are never edited or
redrawn. This allows the shop technician to repair
automobiles to the manufacturer’s standards.
